With over 30 years’ experience; as well as Chartered Landscape Architect I am  a Chartered Engineer and Chartered Environmentalist. This degree of knowledge and experience gains trust and respect, and helps me to communicate with a range of people.

I practice as a Landscape Architect focusing on the design of streets and spaces for people and place. I am on the Landscape Institute Technical Committee where I have written technical notes for members on Inclusive Design and Shared Space.  The Landscape Institute has also commissioned me to write Technical Competencies for Public Realm Design, Landscape Engineering, Masterplanning and Water Management.

I speak regularly at conferences on the subject of designing streets for people whilst accommodating traffic, particularly in relation to the ongoing shared space debate. I have designed some of the best pedestrian priority schemes in the country, winning a number of awards.

After, 15 years I have recently left IBI Group, where I led a 9 strong team of Landscape Architects. IBI are a large, international, multi-disciplinary firm. I have started up my own practice, Street Spirit Design, to focus on the place shaping work I most enjoy delivering.
